Oscars 2020: The favorites according to US betting agencies

The advent of “1917”, Sam Mentes’ anti-war film, changed everything in the prognosis of this year’s Oscars …

Sam Mentes’ film has been slow to get into the race – the US premiered at Christmas – but has managed to top the Oscars for best film, directing, photography and most technical awards. Prior to 1917, the films that were most likely to win the Grand Prix were Parasites, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Joker, all of whom believed that Quentin Tarantino would win the Oscars. However, it seems Sam Mentes will win it, and “1917” will also feature a better movie on February 9th.
The only categories that “1917” left untouched are those of the interpretations, but they have their own clear favorites, confirmed by all the major awards so far: Joan of Phoenix for the first male role, Rene Zelberger for ΄ womenswear, Brad Pitt for womenswear, Laura Dern for womenswear.
